| Description: | Browse and recall Roland JV-1080 patches directly from Ableton Live. A Max for Live MIDI device with a built-in patch database — pick a category, pick a patch, your JV-1080 switches instantly. Category browser — all 640 factory & user patches (PR-A/B/C/D + USER), tagged into 17 categories (Pad, Piano, Synth, Bass, Guitar, Brass...). No track routing needed for patch selection (macOS) — pick your MIDI interface once from the device's Port menu and you're done. If the port name contains "JV", the device connects automatically. Bank select + program change handled for you, with the correct JV-1080 bank map. Fetch — one click reads which patch is currently on the hardware, so the device can follow your JV instead of fighting it. Set recall — the selected patch is saved with your Live set, and the JV-1080 switches back to it when you reopen the set. Note — this device selects patches; it does not carry notes or audio. To actually play and hear the JV-1080, set up sound in the usual way for external hardware: e.g. drop Live's built-in External Instrument on the same track (MIDI To → your JV-1080 port, Audio From → the interface inputs the JV is connected to), or monitor the JV through your mixer. Requirements: Ableton Live 11.1+ with Max for Live, Roland JV-1080. Platforms: Developed and tested on macOS (Apple Silicon) only. Windows and Intel Macs are untested. On those platforms the built-in Port menu is unavailable — set Port to "Track (Live routing)" and route the track's MIDI output to your JV-1080 like any normal MIDI device.
